Prudence Caldairou-Bessette is a clinical psychologist and professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at UQO, as well as an associate professor in the Humanist Section of the Department of Psychology at UQAM. She holds a PhD/PsyD from UQAM and a PhD from the University of Strasbourg. She completed postdoctoral studies at McGill University (Education – Participatory Cultures Laboratory and Research Institute for Human Development and Well-being / Social and Transcultural Psychiatry – SHERPA Research Institute).
She uses art-based methods in both research and clinical practice. Her work is focused on Social Justice, more specifically on amplifying and advocating for the voices of children, as well as socially marginalized and oppressed families or individuals, including asylum seekers, refugees, and Indigenous Peoples.She also serves on the Board of Directors of Rights of Children Canada. https://rightsofchildren.ca/
